A folk horror game with a poetry puzzle twist and unsettling photo-collage visuals. Wicker Man vibes meet Monty Python artwork.

Dawn by Blood

The gods keep a close eye on the village, so comfortable in its otherwise forgotten isle.

In exchange, once in a while, they'll only allow a new day to begin after they receive the proper sacrifice. THE DEMAND. It falls on you to choose who has the debatable honor this year.

Last round, folks, because someone has to die.

Gameplay

Receive the divine message — interpret the clues for their sacrificial demand;

Six villagers are gathered at the pub — interview them to decide who fits the gods' bloodlust;

Use your rounds wisely — at last call, someone must die to appease the strange powers that haunt the place;

Get it wrong — everyone you know and love will burn, but the day will restart with a new divine message. Your work starts again, but can you forget the screams?

Get it right —  and morning will finally come.
Until their hunger grows again.

Sick game! Absolutely adore the art style and the creative use of dialog, once you get the hang of what's going on it gives you just enough information to figure things out. Figuring it out felt great.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป we're sending the gods your way to give a big, multi-armed, tentacled hug! honestly, the 'figuring it out felt great' part really melted our hearts, thanks a lot for that ๐Ÿ’š

The vibes on this one are impeccable! Love the visuals!

thanks a lot! the furiously fast dev'ing is so worth it if you guys dig the game ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

Just such an amazing game guys honestly. Won, but had to do multiple runs to see all the dialogue, great writing(couple typos). Just some thoughts: I was constantly trying to check the poem again while in a dialogue but if I clicked the poem button it would skip the dialogue. Also I wasn't really sure of the whole tracker system? I didn't really use it because I wasn't trying to track which patron I wasn't sacrificing. The beer glass also goes to x-1

*hugs* thanks a lot for the sweet words and feedback ๐Ÿ’š all solved, now to typo hunting!

(+3)

Really cool visuals! I lost, but I also only spoke to four of the six characters.

thanks! the gods will be waiting for your next try, for they hunger still ๐Ÿ’š
